The AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary #10 of Washington County are looking for donations of goods and services for the raffles and auction happening during the Dinner/Dance and Silent Auction in November to benefit the John's Hopkins Children's Miracle Network. Any business donating to the cause will be listed in the printed program.  Anyone interested should contact Valerie at 240-818-8589.

Dont miss the 18thannual Alzheimers Association benefit Car and Truck show at the Frederick MVA off I-70 at exit 56 on Sunday, September 19th. Its hosted by the Heart of Maryland Classic Chevy Club, but the show is open to all makes of cars and trucks. More details can be found here.

 

 

Frederick County Parks & Recreation is hosting their Annual two-day event “ The Great Pumpkin Patch.”  The fun is on October 9th & 10th from 12:30-4:00 pm at Old National Pike Park. Come out and celebrate the pumpkin season for just $5 per person, you will get an all-inclusive pass to enjoy a hay rides, moon bounces, face painting, a petting zoo, pony rides, pumpkin decorating, games, and so much more. Don’t forget to bring your best candy-collecting bag and hop on the Trick or Treat Trail to meet-n-greet with your favorite cartoon, superhero, or movie characters. If candy is still not enough, visit the concession area for some   tasty treats. Pumpkins will be available for purchase in the pumpkin patch area.

Be sure to get registered for the St. Jude 5k Run/Walk For The Cure! It's happening October 16th at Baker Park in Frederick. Registrartion is just $15 ($20 on race day) and all proceeds will benefit St. Jude's. This is a terrific way to help a great cause, get in shape, and have fun all at the same time! 106.9 The Eagle will be out there with you on race day. The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in Hagerstown is extending it's exhibit Circuit of the Summer Hills: Mourning the Losses of the Civil War. Originally set to close in September, the exhibit will now remain open until January of 2011.  For more information visit www.wcmfa.org

The THUNDER OVER THE BLUE RIDGE Air Show is this weekend at the 167th Airlift Wing (Martinsburg airport) off I-81 at Tabler Station Road (Exit 8) on Saturday and Sunday.  The airshow gets underway both days at 10:30a.m. and will feature the USAF Thunderbirds along with a Kids Village and more!  Get details at www.martinsburgairshow.com
